Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery uses small incisions and a camera to perform procedures inside the abdomen. Benefits include less pain, smaller scars, reduced hospital stay, lower infection risk and faster return to daily activities compared to open surgery.

Laparoscopic hernia repair typically allows return to light activities within 1–2 weeks. Heavy lifting and strenuous activities should be avoided for 4–6 weeks. Open hernia repair may require a slightly longer recovery. Your surgeon will provide specific guidance based on the type and size of your hernia.

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) is one of the most commonly performed and safest surgical procedures. After removal, the liver continues to produce bile which flows directly into the small intestine. Most patients resume normal diet and activities within 1–2 weeks.

Grade 1 and Grade 2 haemorrhoids can often be managed with dietary changes, topical treatments and minor procedures. Grade 3 and Grade 4 haemorrhoids usually require surgical treatment. During consultation, our surgeon will assess the grade and recommend the most appropriate treatment option.
